InactiveI’ve noticed that a lot of people are little confused about gearing up and where to get the best gear. At lvl 10 you are given modable weapons/ shield generators. The best place to buy mods would either be mod comms vendors or the GTN (note- this can be expensive). F2P people cannot use artifacts. I know for a fact that the only non-modded things I have are relics and implants. Equipment is slightly different- run hammer station a couple of times and you get moddable stuff, most kit comms vendorrs from about lvl 15 up sell moddable gear for only 10-15 comms. Think before you buy though- look at the stats (these can be changed but try to get something with the right primary stat)
Would someone mind posting below this the primary stats or each class(and sub-class if that works)?June 4, 2014 at 07:35 #3929Anonymous
InactiveJedi Knight(Sentinel and Guardian) – Mainstat: Strength. Guaridans have the possibility to be tanks and dps. Sentinels have the possibility to be dps.
Jedi Consular(Shadow and Sage) – Mainstat: Willpower. Shadows have the possibility to be tanks and dps. Sages have the possibility to be healers and dps.
Trooper(Vanguard and Commando) – Mainstat: Aim. Vanguards have the possibility to be tanks and dps. Commandos have the possibility to be healers and dps.
Smuggler(Scoundrel and Gunslinger) – Mainstat: Cunning. Scoundrels have the possibility to be healers and dps. Gunslingers have the possibility dps.The Imperial mirror classes are as follows. Sith Warrior(Marauder and Juggernaut) for Jedi Knight. Sith Inquisitors(Assassin and Inquisitor) for Jedi Consular. Bounty Hunter(Powertech and Mercenary) for Trooper. Imperial Agent(Operative and Sniper) for Smuggler.
I can update for a gearing specifics later on if wanted and needed.

KeymasterArtu put together a very detailed post about end game gearing, look in the SWToR Guild Data Banks. Perhaps an Admin can move this thread to Data Banks, And yes gearing Pre-Level 55 can be confusing, so thanks guys.

InactiveSimple rules for gearing until you reach level 50 is to do daily flashpoints for both gear(if lucky) and planetary commendations. There are several daily missions that can be picked up at the priority mission terminal on fleet(supplies). This will essentially give you all you need to gear your characters up from level 11 to 49.
But as said previously f2p and prefered players can generally not use artifacts(purple gear) unless they have bought the [Artifact Authorization] from either the Galactic Market or Cartel Market.
In my opinion though, you don’t really need artifact gear(purple gear) to stay ahead of where you’re leveling. The blue mods sold by the planetary vendors at fleet or the modification vendors on the various planets will do just fine.
If you just get a set of customizable gear and change those mods, armorings and enhancements about every 5 levels you should do fine.It costs 96 planetary commendation until level 50 to change all mods, armorings and enhancements in a fully customizable gear set. So another good thing is to get 96 of those commendations and then change your gear, but keep in mind that on the higher levels you might need to change this more often if you are dying a lot.
Note: Flashpoints are also a good way to get to know the class you are playing and checking out the different talent trees at the disposal for your class and some of these flashpoints get a hard mode version on level 50+. Which also helps you know the flashpoints when you start getting into the harder content. Also being a damage dealer is the worst possible way to gear up in a flashpoint unless you can find a group willing to help you. Tanks and healers are sought everywhere and needed almost all of the time, but not everyone wants to be a tank and healer of course. Then we have the tactical flashpoint KDY(Kuat Drive Yards) which is boring, but helpful I guess.
Will post more on specifics for the various roles(tank, healer and dps) you can fill in a flashpoint and operation statwise and such.
PS: Have fun while playing otherwise your gearing won’t make any difference in the long run. 😉

KeymasterYes I realise the difference, the other is specifically end game gearing, and as I said…. “yes gearing Pre-Level 55 can be confusing, so thanks guys. ” It would be nice if this was stickied and put in the same forum as the other so they were close together.
Just waiting for a Admin to pick this up, tidying up the thread i.e delete my comments and move it.
I never could figure out level gearing, Makk always sorted all of that out for me!

1. I’m 15 (thats the 9th time I think) 2. I’m probably in a different country (probably I said) besides I’m not interested in relationships atm, I’d rather be able to get a job first.

No- I just have my priorities straight and I have no idea of who’s with who yet. My generation deserves to be castrated if you ask me.

Having your priorities straight and shoving them down peoples throats are two separate things, if you can’t detect a joke, you’re in the wrong place kid.
As a word of advice, you’ve been allowed into the community with the assumption that you’ll be mature, given your under 18 (The normal threshold for applicants) we do make exceptions, as in your case, think carefully about what you say and the repercussions it could have, also how it may affect affect other people.
That’s all I’ll say on the matter.
