EDers,

The summer is coming to an end and its time we picked up the pace in the Elder Scrolls Online to see if we can start looking at Trials.

But whoa there……not so fast we need to be sensible about it.

Firstly, we need to know if you are interested, so I have set up a thread for this in the ESO section of the forums here. Please use this to let us know or leave a comment on this News thread.

Secondly, we need to gear up and help others gear up as well, we will be no good without it.

So we need to start arranging a lot more dungeon runs once we know who is interested. This should start happening come September but I suggest this happens more organically in game rather than setting up days in advanced.

We need ‘Doers’ for this, to take charge and just arrange it, due to ED slacky nature 😉 It will not always happen but we must start the momentum soon, there is some nice challenges and new content ahead.

Once we have enough geared up people we can start dipping our toes into the Trial waters. For this we will need a raiding trinity of some sort so please consider what class/role you want to play. I will also be looking out for ‘leaders’ that want that extra challenge of organising what can only be described as ‘random chaos’. If this interests you then contact Malbec in game or Discord.

Thanks

Mal

Hi all!

We’ve made it happen and finally ventured into the Mind of Madness as a guild! A few of us have been in there already but the majority hasn’t and it was a pretty exciting guild event.

We were 19 with a few people not quite there with the hit yet but due to the nerfs it went quite alright anyway.

It took us a while to get the first boss Pagura down but it went very well anyway because every single pull got us a bit closer as people got used to the mechanics. The first few pulls we didn’t even survive the first part of “hide behind the pillar that appears when you kill one of the big adds”. We ended up activating too many of the big adds making the AoE damage that comes from them too much for us. It went better every pull though. Healers got used to what to expect, people didn’t hit more than one of them anymore and slowly but surely we made it past that phase safely more and more often.

The next problem we had was the phase with the two mini bosses because the small adds started swarming us when we didn’t kill their nests fast enough but that was a matter of getting used to as well and went pretty well after a while.

The closer Pagura was to his (her? its?) inevitable demise the messier the fight got though. Adds were everywhere. Red and green AoEs were everywhere. Kill the big add! Hide! Run away! And then, before we even realized how low hp Pagura already had, it suddenly died!

It was really great to see every pull being better than the previous one. We weren’t stagnating on one phase or struggling with a certain mechanic. It was constant noticeable improvement. Great job everyone!

So we went on to Lord Arak, the second boss. The first challenge of the fight was to actually jump down into the hole that opened after Pagura died without landing on Arak’s head and making him wipe the floor with you instantly. So regrouping after a wipe took a bit longer than usually, especially with a few very special people that seemed to enjoy being a mop for Arak’s floor.

The other problem was the pizza slice movement mechanic because one of our tanks apparently forgot the difference between right and left and had a difficult time moving the safe pizza slice we were standing in in the correct direction. Or as the first boss from Empyrean Core would say: “YOU HIT THE WRONG LEVERWLKAFDJWFJA”.

Then we kind of misunderstood the adds (WTB add whisperer) and didn’t exactly realize they would want to run away after if we bully the boss to 40% hp (we were close but didn’t quite get there). We actually tried to kill them when they turned off immortality mode but lacked dps a bit to get them down in one go before they became immortal again. But considering we were about 16 people only by then (it was getting late after all), still with a few lower hit members, we weren’t too surprised there.

We also had problems with a certain squirrel person that wasn’t setting a very good example as a squirrel person and kept running around like a mad headless chicken on drugs actually thinking some interrupts were missed or something… while standing in the green crystal near the boss.

After a while we got the left/right coordination problem sorted. The crazy headless chicken squirrel person calmed down as well so it was getting better and better. We still had problems with the adds swarming us even though the bard did all he could to pacify them.

We eventually had to call it a day because it got late and more and more people had to go sleep already.

In the end, we were quite happy with our progress that day considering we didn’t have a full raid and had a few people that weren’t hitting the boss half the time.

We will definitely try to keep this going! After getting Pagura’s mechanics down it should go down much quicker next time so we can fully focus on Lord Arak and the bosses beyond.

Thanks to everyone that made this raid a success and stayed in high spirits despite the many many wipes.

After a summer of slacking off, the Guild decided to relaunch the autumn ops season with a bang and visit their favourite nemesis: the Underlurker!  After several years of intermittent attempts, now was the time to dig deep, make sacrifices and conquer that Temple of Sacrifice.

On a cool Tuesday evening they met up on Yavin, seven bold adventurers, all but one (who had never been there before and so didn’t know the dangers) quaking in their skimpy slippers but determined and brave. Seven you ask, for an eight person op, but nothing daunted, they entered.

The first boss fell quickly to their determined assaults, then all the trash, which can still pack a punch, and then the Walkers, which fell to their first onslaught and so on to that Underlurker, the bane of many guilds and even more players, requiring faultless completion of mechanics, a dps race and killing oh so many adds. Time after time our dauntless group attacked him, defeating adds, perfecting the mechanics and bringing the Underlurker so, so low, but  just lacking that extra bit of damage  (never forget this dauntless band were under-strength) until they finally retreated, to return again later with a full group.

The following night they met again on Yavin, outside that fabled Temple, still seven. Fearlessly, Bullet and his merry band assaulted a far more fearsome foe, the sensibilities of Yarissa to make her join them in their quest.  They also found Kharla, long unseen in Republic space, to join them in this quest and with a full eight, they again braved that Underlurker.

The first assault failed – there was some confusion but again they attacked, pressing the Underlurker harder and harder, and then …. he fell!  Although there were deaths afterwards of brave heroes while the remaining adds were destroyed.

But no time for triumphs, on and on pushed our band of heroes, defeating the Commanders and finally on to the great Revan. Ably advised by Kharla they defeated HK47, moved on through Revan and finally destroyed the great Orb.

At last, the Temple of Sacrifice had been conquered by Eternal Dawn.

Happy (belated) Valentine’s Day to everyone!

Or Singles Awareness Day (S.A.D.) as some of our members prefer to call it. 😀

And what better is there to do on this lovely evening than to venture into a Nightmare Rift!

Yes, I could probably think of 10 other things off the top of my head right now, too. But hey, we went for it anyway! Gotta keep each other company on S.A.D., right? And we have to get some more Nightmare Rift V achievements to get closer to those sweet essences that Nightmare Rift V: Master unlocks, right?

Or that was the plan at least. Our dream sure was short-lived when we realized that none of the people online that evening could actually buy a Nightmare Rift V lure! So we went for a Nightmare Rift IV instead. Close enough.

We spent half the time chatting (partly to keep each other awake) – random stuff mostly, including the question of what you would do if that ugly spider boss from that Nightmare Rift was on your ceiling – but we managed to make it to stage 96 nonetheless with three people getting Nightmare IV: Master on the way! Grats! That means we have three more people that can buy Nightmare V lures now for the next time our leaders decide to give us such a sweet surprise. Many people finished their weekly boss kills as well. It sure is much easier to do them in a guild run so we may actually do them more regularly from now on. 😀

Good run everyone, thanks staying awake!
