What better time to gather the ESO Members and jump into our first Trial in Aetherian Archive.

As we zoned in the usual questions were asked “have/need food”, “charge weapons” etc and then we awaited those all important first instructions. This was ED scripting yet another piece of history and this time in ESO.

We had to start the raid by running through flames until we reached the trashy Flame Atronach’s where we burnt them down with a mighty force.

Another wee run but this time dodging the ice where a call of “I don’t know which way to go” came through our headsets as we run round a maze of frosty bookcases. We all waited by the double doors for them to open so we were all greeted collectively by the Ice Atronach’s.

Then onto the Bannermen or “those that carry those long flag things”, we got them down with ease and the trash was cleared to our first Boss the Lightning Storm Atronach.

Surprisingly taken down on the first pull and still no one mentions Malbec’s bikini…

Off to the next area which had these lovely shiny platforms.

This is where we reached our toughest challenge; was it working out the mystery of these bright platforms, was it the encounter we were about to endure. No, something far more complex. It was getting the person not in Discord on a platform; vast cheers were heard when they finally stepped foot on the platform.

Why do we stand on these platforms? Well that my friends you have to find out when you come along but take heed, just like the last boy to be picked at the school playground football team, consider yourself cursed when Malbec goes to your platform side…

After the platforms, whilst Malbec still cried, we reached the second Boss, the Foundation Stone Atronach, which gave us a boss fight with adds called Chainspinners and Nullifiers, but in true ED carnage type style we managed to end them all.

It was at this point of the Raid when it was noticed that some were not paying attention from the start as their health was not very big and dying quite quickly and this created our next most challenging task of the evening…….it was a double whammy; firstly and most generously when giving food remember to split that stack, but the kind request for their food to be returned sparked off probably one of the most common queries in MMO slackery “How do you trade in this game”. So more ED history was created by way of a Trade Strategy being given in a Raid.

After Tradegate we met our third Boss Varlariel, Malbec was still crying from platform haters so to cheer himself up he decided to break into Amy Winehouse Valerie after we killed her, she was a ghostly little thing splitting up into little Varlariel’s.

With Varlariel neutralised it was off to the fourth and last Boss The Mage, what could go wrong before we start the encounter…..well…..stumbling on the worlds most dangerous Library wrong that’s what could happen, risking our very existence to read books but we eventually got to the Boss.

Whilst the raid focused on the boss our Tank had just ONE job, that’s right just one job, Tanks in MMO’s these days must be so boring. Anyway, they had to keep the little tiny weenie whiny axes from flying all over the place.

Who would have thought 3 silly little axes would turn a grown Tank into a withering, tourette syndrome mess. In brief it went from…”I got first axe…I got second axe…I got third axe” all good; then “I lost an axe, bloody hell those axes, got them” still ok but then “S*&t those axes, wtf these axes, oh f*%k these axes *deep breaths and sighs* THESE F&%king axes” Boss dies to huge cheers and the Tank’s deep breaths.

It was a cracking night and a massive well done to all, thank you all for coming and creating yet more Eternal Dawn history.

Did I put not ONE of you mentioned Malbec’s bikini….

The summer is coming to an end and its time we picked up the pace in the Elder Scrolls Online to see if we can start looking at Trials.

But whoa there……not so fast we need to be sensible about it.

Firstly, we need to know if you are interested, so I have set up a thread for this in the ESO section of the forums here. Please use this to let us know or leave a comment on this News thread.

Secondly, we need to gear up and help others gear up as well, we will be no good without it.

So we need to start arranging a lot more dungeon runs once we know who is interested. This should start happening come September but I suggest this happens more organically in game rather than setting up days in advanced.

We need ‘Doers’ for this, to take charge and just arrange it, due to ED slacky nature It will not always happen but we must start the momentum soon, there is some nice challenges and new content ahead.

Once we have enough geared up people we can start dipping our toes into the Trial waters. For this we will need a raiding trinity of some sort so please consider what class/role you want to play. I will also be looking out for ‘leaders’ that want that extra challenge of organising what can only be described as ‘random chaos’. If this interests you then contact Malbec in game or Discord.

All those online piled into the Guild Dimension and sat round the fire to start the debate.

It was made clear form the very start that Eternal Dawn is not just a 1 game guild it is a multi-game community, friendships have formed across several games and we intend to be here for a very long time.

This meeting was for the Rift members in Eternal Dawn and how we can improve the fun [although it appears we are doing the right thing in any case]

The topics discussed were;

Recruitment, Introducing New Members, What Do Members Want To Do and Raiding.

There was some great feedback, the meeting was screenshot and is now on our forum for all Rift members to read however the headlines of the discussion went as follows;

Recruitment – This continues, and is currently very successful however, we must make our play style transparent we don’t just raid.

New members – We continue to welcome them into Eternal Dawn kindly. We are introducing a 1 on 1 mentor to help them feel a big part of Eternal Dawn, even on day 1.

What do you want to do – this almost turned into the majority of the guild wanting to carry on raiding before we got to raiding topic but it was clear that we will continue doing what we do which is; Crifts, NMR’s, low level dungeons, NTE’s and pretty much what Rift throws at us.

Raiding – The hunger continues [see other News articles and our main Rift page]. Raiding has been a great success and more and more are joining us so we have great confidence we will continue with Hammerknell but our main focus right now is gearing members in Tier 1.

We hope the above looks attractive to anyone browsing our site and demonstrates that we want our members to be a very important part of Eternal Dawn’s growth long term.

BOOM we are at Johan.

Anyways after the best tactics in the world [cough] we pull, some weird stuff happens, we wipe a couple of times, one being 0.25% yeah that’s a number you can wipe at!

THEN…………just a wee while after;

JOHAN DIES!

Well Done All was a great night.

We continue to gear up and gratz on all those that got loots.

No sooner did we add our new Rift Raid Progress Art we had to update it with a further 2 kills.

We are now 4/4 Rhen of Fate, 4/4 intrepid Gilded Prophecy and now, thanks to some hard work by the team and some buggy moments killed 4/5 in Mount Sharax.

The team has grown tremendously and Raiding has become great fun. We thank everyone for participating.

We have also set a date for Hammerknell and we will first step foot in the place on the 17 February.

We are back into Mount Sharax 2/5 [20 man raid] after our Christmas break with great success.We have got Yrlwalach down to 16% which included bring some of our members in for the very first time. We have had to skip Izkinra as its been a bit buggy on us but it has given us the chance to see Boss 4 and we glad we have met up with it as he is so close to being killed.

Tier 2 Intrepid Drowned Halls has been a fantastic success. Boss 2 [Guuloth] caused a few headaches but the Raiders soon downed it and went on to clear the other Bosses with ease.

The plan is to keep progressing Mount Sharax and then hopefully have enough members geared to pop into the huge Hammerknell. This will be a huge milestone for Eternal Dawn and we cannot wait to get there.

We would like to thank all our Members that are helping out with the raiding and also gearing up other members to come and join in with the fun.

Those Looking To Join Eternal Dawn

We are currently looking for more players to add to our Raiding Roster. No Hit requirements need to be met, all that we ask for is that you are mature and prepared to make friends.

Don’t make the Hit requirements to raid, do not worry we will assist in gearing all new members up as quickly as we can.

We raid formally on Mondays and Wednesdays. Currently Monday is Intrepid Gilded Prophecy and Wednesday is Mount Sharax.

We have a slot provisionally booked on Sundays and Fridays for RoF to gear new members and or attempt a return to Mount Sharax.

We use Discord to communicate either by text or voice communication. Any Guild not using this is missing out on a great free application.

We are not regimental raiders, all those interested in raiding get a chance to see this content. There are no 1st teams and loot priority we just have fun whether we are wiping or farming bosses.

Common with MMO’s is we drift off and enjoy the Summer and get use to doing stuff in the real world and then all of a sudden the nights get longer and we start thinking about returning to one of the many MMO’s out there.

Well Eternal Dawn would like to remind you that we are still going strong and Rift has some exciting stuff incoming and already live.

The most exciting news at the moment and coming in the Autumn [or Fall as the US call it] is probably Trion’s biggest Rift Game Update ever. We will let you trawl the internet for the fine detail but anyone remember how big and how good Ember Isle was? Well the new Zone is bigger than that. To compare its size with Ember isle have a look at the screenshot below :lol [Plane Touched Wilds is the grey area to the East and Ember Isle is just above it ] :

A new Calling is coming with 3.4 called the Primalist for you alt players or anyone that wants to start from scratch again.

Currently in the game is the new Nightmare Saga questline with a stunning super stat weapon at the end of it but lots and lots of questing and team work to do to get to the end of it.

It would be really great if our old members could return, but why wait? Come back now and witness all the other changes and get yourself use to the game before 3.4 drops.

Since we have formed we have seen our numbers increase significantly with 166 members registering on our forums to join Rift. It is understandable in gaming that people come and go but it has had an impact on our in game numbers when we use to peak at around 30 members online at any one time to now where it can be from anything to a handful to around 20 odd players at peak times.

Its very difficult managing an MMO game and keeping everyone happy as there is such a wide spectrum of game players in a casual Guild however, all we ask for now with the hope you will return is can you just ask yourselves why did you join us in the first place? Do you remember the fun you had in game when you was playing and the friends you made? Well all of that is still there

Anyway it would be great to see you all back but here is a brief synopsis of what Eternal Dawn is currently up to;

Raids

Raids continue each week at a minimum of 2 per week and notwithstanding the drop in numbers mentioned above they have been very successful and many more members have now gained the achievement of all 4 Bosses in the Rhen of Fate along with the reward of the loot drops and currency.

Raids now also have Easy, Normal and Hard modes so they can be tweaked depending on the level of the team going in.

Raiders have also started in Intrepid Guilded Prophecy on Easy Mode, so its adding a bit of variety with the 10 man raids.

We would really like to get the numbers back up to running 20 man raids but it relies on many people returning and others joining as Rift has so much more content for raiding in the 20 man tiers which would increase the fun and challenge no end.

Anyone that has raided with us will understand we do it so much differently than others and no one is put under any pressure to up their DPS or gets shouted at for continually standing in something they should not be in. Even people who have never raided before joining ED have experienced it and have killed many of the Bosses we now visit.

It can be repetitive stuff for those that turn up all the time but it helps move the Guild forward into newer content but it is so reliant on regular numbers.

Dungeons

In 3.4 we have a new dungeon coming which is exciting stuff. All other Dungeons continue on a regular basis and if you find yourself wanting to come back these can be done relatively quickly and gain you good gear and currency.

Rifts

The very mention of Nightmare Rifts makes people run away but they still happen in the Open World and members who like gaining the achievements crack on with them. If numbers increase then maybe we can stick them back on the Event Calendar, but you only have to ask in Guild Chat and someone will join.

Crafting Rifts or Crifts have been re-introduced and whilst a bit tedious the reward in drops [if not 100’s of open world players turn up] is very rewarding and contribute to the new Planar Crafting Recipes that give some very nice loot which upgrades to some jaw dropping stuff.

Collecting

The Artefact Circle is still going strong and with the heavy rumours of 3 new Artefact types incoming then anyone with collecting habits should get your butts back into the game.

There is a few of us along with some guides on the forums doing the Most Wanted Bounty collections and a bit of a buzz for the Unstable collections as well.

The new Wardrobe System is also a collectors paradise and we are even running off the cuff runs to older raid/dungeon zones to 1) get the Achievements and 2) add the drops to the wardrobe collection.

We also have 1 Tab of the Guild Bank designated to wardrobe gear where people just drop into bags and put back [without equipping] it’s as simple as that. Others go a bit further and make or hunt down items they want to collect.

Crafting

Our crafters are a very helpful bunch of people and the stuff they make is so important to strengthening your characters equipment. Along with the new Planar Equipment Rift has really shown some love to Crafters and by the sounds of it more changes and additions are incoming.

Social

Well I don’t think you can get more social than Eternal Dawn in Rift. Guild Chat is always moving and also people using Mumble. Both means of communication are used to discuss real life, Rift and general banter all round.

Conclusion

Finally we would like to say that many of you have been in Eternal Dawn since it was created and you may of just wandered off to pastures new or just real life is getting in the way. No grudge will ever be held but all we ask is if you feeling the itch to game then come home, there are many more friendships to be made and many more adventures to have.
